Al Acquaviva - Experienced Municipal Law Attorney in New Jersey

A resident of Hawthorne, New Jersey, Al Acquaviva is the owner of Acquaviva Law Offices, LLC. He founded the firm in November 2007 and focuses his practice on municipal land use and zoning, municipal law, residential and commercial real estate, real estate tax appeals, and chancery litigation. Al Acquaviva is also the planning board attorney for the City of Paterson.

Before launching his firm, Al Acquaviva worked as an equity partner with a number of prominent law firms in Bergen, Morris, and Passaic counties. He further served as special counsel and litigation counsel to the Boroughs of Haledon, Pompton Lakes, Oakland, Bloomingdale, and Vernon. He was also special counsel to the Boroughs of Roseland and Garfield and municipal prosecutor for the City of Paterson.

Active in the New Jersey bar since 1991, Mr. Acquaviva leverages his experience to moderate CLE courses pertaining to zoning law. A member of the New Jersey Bar Association, he also chairs the association’s Passaic County High School Mock Trial Committee.

Al Acquaviva earned his JD at Quinnipiac University Law School in 1991, and won the Superior Performance Award while at the institution. He also has a BA in political science from Seton Hall University. In his free time he enjoys golf, playing music, and traveling.
